Have you ever been through a fire? No, I’m not talking about a literal fire. I hope you haven’t been through something so tragic. I’m talking about another kind of fire. These are fires that we all face at one point or another on life’s journey. Perhaps, you have been through the fire of discouragement? Negativity? Difficult problems? Delayed dreams? Deferred hope? Matthew 26:40: “Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. ‘Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?’”

When Jesus Christ went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray, He took three of His twelve disciples with Him — Peter, James, and John. When they were close to the place where Jesus wanted to go and pour out His heart to the Father, He told His disciples to stay in a certain part of the Garden while He went a a little further into the Garden to pray. The Greatest Power In Life

Matthew 16:24: “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

Oftentimes, if we are not careful, many of us tend to think that because of our talents or our abilities, we are somehow in charge of our own lives. You may not realize it, but the greatest power in life that results in the greatest amount of blessings from God is the will to die to ourselves, our wants, our wishes, our agendas, our rights, and our plans for our lives.
