Sold Out for God

Sold Out for God

“And he said unto them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?” (Luke 9:23-25)

God wants to use each and every one of us to make a difference in people’s lives and to advance His Kingdom in the world. In order to do that, we must be willing to deny ourselves the things that we want to do and the pleasures that we want to have, and take up the cross of sacrifice and giving, just like Jesus did when He died and the cross for us. He could have taken the easy route and bypassed pain and suffering altogether. But he chose instead to sacrifice and give His life up for us.

There are many blessings in doing things for God, but He wants us to not only do things for Him, He wants our hearts and minds and souls to be sold out for Him. He wants to manifest His purpose in our lives, and He will do it if we open our hearts to Him. God seeks to blow our minds in the most amazing ways possible, but we must be willing and committed to following His plan and fulfilling His purpose.

So, before you start this day, put God in your plans. Ask Him what He would have you to do. It means nothing to go through life just doing what we want with no real foundation to stand upon, and no real person to answer to. By seeking to do our will alone, we will more than likely lose everything. So use your talents and gifts to help others and to advance God’s Kingdom in the world. If you do so, He will take you places that you never deemed possible.

Andrew Murray said, “God reserves the very best for those who leave the choice with Him.”

Lord, we surrender our lives to you today. Every plan, every action, every thought we are choosing right now to include you in it. We don’t just want to serve You, we want to be committed to serving You and others. We leave our lives in your hand and open our hearts to your divine plan for us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

“…Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6)

Have you ever tried to do something in your own strength and completely blew it? Have you ever been behind a slow driver on a highway and wished they would speed up? Have you ever thought that God was moving too slow in answering your prayers or making something happen for you? Continue reading

A Grace that Carries

A Grace that Carries

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” (Titus 2:11-14)

I love grace. How about you? I’ve never met a person that hated grace. In fact, every single person has experienced grace at one point or another in their lives. And if they didn’t realize it, they were at least surprised or grateful for the invisible hand that offered them grace at a particularly difficult time. Grace is not only “God’s unmerited favor”, but grace is God’s divine transportation that carries us through the ups and downs of life. I would not be here without grace. You would not be here without grace. Grace is invisible; you can’t see it, or touch it, or describe it, but we just know that everyday, we are living in the gravity of God’s amazing grace.
